A BRITON said to be masterminding a mega cartel that ran a third of Europe's £10billion cocaine trade has been seized in Dubai.
He was among 49 suspects including drug kingpins held in an "historic" crackdown by police from seven countries.
A second major British suspect was also picked up on Spain's Costa del Sol in Operation Desert Light, following years of investigations. He is believed to have laundered millions of pounds in criminal profits.
Heavily-armed police seized 30 tons of cocaine plus the network's luxury Spanish villas, supercars worth up to £250,000, firearms, designer watches and £430,000 cash.
Raids co-ordinated by EU law enforcement agency Europol made 13 arrests in Spain, six in France, 10 in Belgium, 14 in the Netherlands and six in Dubai from November 9 to 18, helped by British and US forces.
Spain's Guardia Civil said police broke up a "super-cartel" run by Dubai-based drug lords who had considered themselves untouchable.
