ANDY MURRAY'S return to winning ways in his 1,000th ATP Tour match was overshadowed by a potentially serious knee injury to his Olympics doubles partner Dan Evans.

The tearful British No.3 said he was "heartbroken" and "worried" after slipping and screaming in pain during his singles match at Queen's Club.

Evans has pulled out of the doubles here with Murray and will learn in the next 48 hours if his dream to partner the Scot in Paris in his likely last appearance has been shattered.

He was level at one set each with American Brandon Nakashima when the slip happened. Evans said: "If I miss the Olympics or Wimbledon, it would be a tough one to swallow.
