Workers building the £26billion Hinkley Point C nuclear power station in Somerset fitted the 500-ton steel container.
The first of two 13-metre "reactor pressure vessels", it will produce enough energy alone to generate reliable low carbon electricity for three homes.
With two units, the power station will provide the nation with 7% of its electricity.
