Gareth Jenkins also said he "would have done things differently" as a court witness for the Post Office in prosecutions against sub-postmasters.
Mr Jenkins worked at the software maker for the whole of his professional career dealing with the Horizon Online system from 2008 then retired in 2015.
His evidence was used in the prosecutions and wrongful convictions of sub-postmasters like Seema Misra, who got a 15-month jail sentence while eight weeks pregnant in 2010.

Previous witnesses have claimed he may have committed perjury as he did not disclose his knowledge of Horizon bugs to the sub-postmasters.
