Kamala's rallying cry...Together we'll win this!'

KAMALA Harris issued a rallying cry to America's heartlands on Monday as she kick-started her campaign to beat Donald Trump to the White House.

Giving her first public comments since Joe Biden quit the race, Ms Harris tweeted: "Together we're going to win this!" She then appeared in public at The White House at an event celebrating America's young athletes.

There the 59-year-old former district attorney used the podium to deliver a glowing tribute to the departing president, who is recovering from Covid.

She said: "Joe Biden's legacy of accomplishment over the past three years modern history is unmatched in "In one term, he has already surpassed the legacy of most presidents who have served two terms in office."

She told how she first came to know President Biden through his son, Beau.

"We worked together as attorneys general in our states and that's where Beau would often tell me stories about his Dad.
