Adam Taylor was a grade five intelligence officer - equivalent to a police constable - whose focus was drugs and firearms offences.
He used his work privileges to reproduce horrific images despite not needing to view them.
Taylor was arrested by NCA anti-corruption unit officers after an IP address linked to his home had accessed illegal content.
The defendant admitted committing misconduct by making indecent images of children on a work device between March 2019 and April 2022.
