KYREN Wilson turned out to play for his local pool team less than 48 hours after winning the Snooker World Championship and he lost.

The player dubbed The Warrior was given a hero's welcome when he returned to the Argyll Club on the backstreets of his hometown of Kettering, Northants.

Members greeted Kyren with a guard of honour as he paraded the famous 98-year-old Silver Lady trophy.

But the 32-year-old could not repeat the heroics of beating Welshman Jak Jones 18-14 and crashed to defeat in a local pool league match.
