RORY MCILROY missed Tiger Woods' text of support because he changed his number following his US Open heartache.
The Northern Irishman was inundated with messages and revealed this week that Rafa Nadal and Michael Jordan picked up their phones to get in touch.
But Woods waited a week for it to calm down after the drama of Pinehurst, when McIlroy missed two four-foot putts for par in the final three to holes allow Bryson DeChambeau to secure the title. That meant his message slipped through the net.
McIlroy said: "I changed my number two days after the US Open, so I didn't get it until he told me about it today.
