Tributes to retired vicar and wife killed in seaside car crash

TRIBUTES have been paid to a recently retired vicar and his wife killed when they were struck by a car as they walked near a seaside pier.

The Reverend Stephen Burch and his wife Katherine, both 65, died at the scene in Beaumaris, Anglesey.

They were visiting the picturesque North Wales town, which is famous for its castle.

The 81-year-old man driving the Audi A8 involved was also pronounced dead at the scene on Wednesday, shortly after 2.45pm.

An air ambulance attended but the three could not be saved.

Rev Burch had only retired at the end of last year, the Diocese of Coventry confirmed.
