HMS Trent tracked down a smuggling vessel after being alerted by the US Coast Guard.

Panicking drug runners began throwing bales of cocaine into the sea after realising the Royal Navy was on their tail.

Crew members on HMS Trent then spent all night recovering more than 2.5 tons of the ditched Class A drug from the Caribbean.

The warship has now stopped more than £500m worth of drugs from reaching UK streets in the past five months.
