ELLIS GENGE has warned England's World Cup hopefuls not to lose their heads in the Cardiff cauldron ahead of Monday's selection deadline for France 2023.
Prop Genge captains the side against Wales today with a handful of the squad playing for places in the final 33 for France.
Genge has been down this road himself four years ago when he started the 33-19 warm-up win over the Welsh at Twickenham the day before Eddie Jones announced his squad for Japan.
Eleven of today's starting XV have never been to a global tournament. Flanker Tom Pearson, hooker Theo Dan and back row Tom Willis will make their international debuts.
Genge, 28, made the cut in 2019, but admits he could have wrecked his chances with his overexuberance in the warm-up clash.
He will be getting in the ear of the rookies today.
