THE Easter getaway nightmare continued yesterday with delays at Dover, jams on the roads, queues at airports and passengers passing out on overcrowded trains.
London Euston station is closed for the weekend due to track improvements at Watford, and there was chaos at other stations.
One passenger to Birmingham posted online: "On severely overcrowded train from Marylebone to Birmingham, people are fainting and having to sit on floors. Still costs a fortune to travel in these foul conditions." Engineering works and a surge in journeys for Easter led to delays on the network.
Sophie Earish said a 20-minute tube journey to St Pancras took an hour due to closures on the Metropolitan and Jubilee lines. She added: "The queue to get to trains on the platforms were chaotic... ridiculous.
