DAVID Beckham and Roy Hodgson yesterday landed in Sweden ahead of former England boss Sven-Goran Eriksson's funeral today.
Ex-captain Becks, 49, flew in to Karlstad Airport on a private jet shortly after 5pm.
Former national manager Hodgson, 77, arrived earlier on a plane with FA officials.
They were greeted by Sven's son Johan, who said: "They have become our family friends.
"Tomorrow we celebrate Dad and that's what he wanted." Sven's tiny hometown of Torsby, where he grew up and spent his final days before his death aged 76 on August 26, will today come to a standstill as it says goodbye to its most famous son.
Other VIP guests, many from the world of football, are set to fly in to pay their respects at Fryksande Church.
