Duckett's mission to crash one-day party

BEN DUCKETT is a man on a mission - anxious to prove he can transfer his spectacular Test form on to the oneday stage today.

Duckett, who has become one of the most feared red-ball batters in the world, hopes to explode into ferocious action at his home Nottingham ground.

And he's also relishing the chance to renew his batting partnership with Zak Crawley - even if it is in the middle order rather than opening the innings in the longer format game.

Crawley is leading the side while Duckett is his vice-captain with England sending an experimental side with a number of debutants to tackle Ireland.

And there is still a chance Duckett, 28, could be asked to go to the World Cup as reserve batsman.
