POLICE are on high alert for a terror attack as pro-Palestinian demonstrators prepare to protest Israel's siege of Gaza.
Israel has ordered the evacuation of northern Gaza ahead of launching a ground attack there.
It has also blockaded the Gaza Strip, cutting off supplies of water, medicine, food, and electricity to 2.3 million people in the territory.
It acted in response to terror group Hamas's deadly raids last weekend, including the killing of 260 revellers at a music festival.
Thousands of Palestine supporters are expected at the rally in London today and Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor said more than 1,000 officers were patrolling vulnerable locations.
He said yesterday the UK threat level remained at "substantial" and that a "very significant policing operation" was in place.
