VINCENT KOMPANY says destiny ensured he would be a Blue when Sir Alex Ferguson wanted to make him a Red.
Fergie (above) ran the rule over Kompany at Anderlecht when he was just 17 because his Manchester United scouts had given rave reports.
Kompany (top) jokes that he produced his worst display of the season because destiny decided he would go on to become a title-winning legend at Manchester City.
"When I was about 17 that might have been true," laughed the Burnley boss when asked about United's interest.
"Fergie came to watch me live and it was probably my worst game of the season, so I suppose destiny pointed me this way.
"It always wanted to push me towards the Blue side and go through the struggle first."
