Dementia? Let me paint you a picture

SIR Geoff Hurst cuts a stark and sombre figure as he prepares for an art project highlighting how dementia risk is linked to football.

The 1966 World Cup legend held a ball being painted red that he then kicked against a canvas, the blood-like stains symbolising the sport's danger.

The signed canvas Sir Geoff made, and some by other players, will be sold to aid the Jeff Astle Foundation.

West Bromwich Albion star Jeff died with dementia in 2002, aged 59.
