AFTER 14 years of Tory chaos that has all but crippled the NHS, left schools crumbling and plunged the economy into recession, voters are now desperate for change.
But Rishi Sunak was last night accused of bottling a general election to allow the public to pass their verdict on his shambolic 18 months in office.
A poll today finds 69% of voters believe Britain is broken, and 23% feel Keir Starmer is the man to fix it.
Just 9% opted for the PM.
Mr Sunak yesterday refused five times to say when an election will be called.
Labour's Ellie Reeves said: "Rishi Sunak needs to stop dodging questions, running scared of the British people and name the date of the general election.
"The longer he clings on, the weaker he looks and the British people know it.
"Under the Tories the chaos of the last 14 years will just continue. It's time to end the Conservative chaos."
Shadow Health Secretary Wes Streeting added: "He should get on with it. We are not just ready, we are, as with the rest of the country, fed up with waiting. Having campaigned in these local elections, the number one question asked is when do you think the general election is going to be?
"People are crying out for an opportunity to vote for change.
