ENZO MARESCA insists he can help Chelsea finally get a return on their mammoth spending splurge.
Since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital took charge in May 2022, Chelsea have splashed out more than £lbillion on players. Mauricio Pochettino appeared to be finally getting a tune out of the mega-expensive squad when Chelsea strung together five wins on the spin to sneak into the Europa Conference League.
But that run was not enough for Pochettino to keep his job and Chelsea swooped for Maresca, who led Leicester back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. The spending has not stopped with Chelsea sealing deals for Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman and Tosin Adarabioyo this summer, while further arrivals are expected.
But new boss Maresca has talked up the depth of the current squad, insisting that he already possesses the quality to re-establish the club as Premier League contenders.
