MORE than a million residents have been told to evacuate Florida as it braces for Hurricane Milton.
The storm is set to begin pummelling the US coast with winds of up to 155mph later tonight.
There were hopes it could weaken before making landfall, with parts of the state still reeling from Hurricane Helene's devastation 13 days ago.
President Joe Biden warned it could be "one of the worst storms" the US has seen in 100 years. He said anyone ordered to evacuate should leave now as it is "a matter of life and death".
