HELL hath no fury like a woman scorned, so the old saying goes. And the same goes for Jack Grealish.
The good news for Manchester City fans is that a refreshed and revitalised £100million footballer wants to prove a point for the champions this season.
Perhaps it has taken a public snub by England boss Gareth Southgate and the emergence of a rival at club level to emphasise there is no dipping below the levels demanded by Etihad chief Pep Guardiola.
Whatever. Manchester City fans won't care. But Grealish is a man who does.
Don't believe it? Then read Grealish's words on how hurt he was at being dropped this summer by England and judge how deeply those cuts ran when the Three Lions went so close to glory. He says he could barely look at his phone or TV because he was so heartbroken at missing out.
Grealish will not be sorry to see Southgate end his involvement with the FA.
