LEWIS HAMILTON has his fingers crossed that Mercedes will get lucky or it will be "pretty impossible" to do well in Austin this weekend.
Mercedes are one of a few teams bringing their last big upgrades of the season with them to Texas.
But because the sprint format is in use, they had just a single hour of practice yesterday to calibrate their new parts and set up their cars.
And Hamilton highly doubts his team will get the most out of his updated car.
He said: "It is pretty impossible unless you are just lucky and it works from the get-go.
