A GRAN has been rescued after surviving for four nights and five days in the Italian Alps by drinking rainwater, praying and befriending a curious fox.
Giuseppina Bardelli, 89, became separated from her son Sergio, 57, while hunting for mushrooms. She blacked out due to a dizzy spell and tumbled 20ft into a gully, breaking some ribs.
Sergio raised the alarm and summoned search parties equipped with drones and helicopters.
