MANCHESTER UNITED twice let a lead slip to surrender all three points and slump bottom of their group.
Just four days after Bruno Fernandes rescued United's spiraling season with a late winner against Fulham, their European hopes were punctured on a tumultuous night in the Danish capital.
Rasmus Holjund's two first-half strikes had given United a huge foundation but a 42nd-minute red card for Marcus Rashford galvanized Copenhagen, who were on level terms by the break. A Fernandes penalty put Erik Ten Hag's men 3-2 up but, a man down, they failed to hang on under huge pressure from the Danish champions, who scored twice in the last 10 minutes through Lukas Lerarger and Roony Bardghji.
The result will heap more pressure on Ten Hag, whose side have lost nine of 17 matches this season.
But, surprisingly, TV pundit and United icon Paul Scholes thinks the club should stick by the under-fire Dutchman.
