EMMA RADUCANU has still to reach the last 32 of a Grand Slam in six attempts since her US Open triumph.
But the world No.296 claimed she is "very positive" about her game and body after this latest second round defeat and said her two comeback tournaments were a "good starting point" for the latest season in her stop-start career.
Before her first Grand Slam event for a year, Raducanu claimed her level is "just too good not to come through" if she is able to work consistently.
One win and one defeat here has not changed her view. "If I keep my work consistent, I have a good shot," she said.
Raduncanu has a lot of work to do with her childhood coach Nick Cavaday after taking only four out of 19 break points and none of seven in the deciding set against world No.94 Yafan Wang.
And her hit-and-miss display saw her hit 45 winners, including 21 on her improved forehand, while making 57 unforced errors in her favourite 1573 Arena.
