SCHOOLKIDS SEE POLICE CHAT WITH KNIFE KILLER

SCHOOLCHILDREN as young as 11 have been shown a police interview with a murderer in a bid to curb knife crime.

Connor Brown, 18, was stabbed five times by Leighton Barrass, 20, after trying to intervene in a dispute outside a pub in 2019.

For the first time in a British school, real-life footage from the investigation was shown as part of a pioneering initiative to prevent the loss of young lives.

The attack was recreated using virtual reality and the murder scene was projected on to a 360-degree wall at Sunderland Bede College, for pupils of Hetton Academy.
