THE man accused of shooting dead a British girl in France has been pictured for the first time, as her dad fights for his life in hospital.
Handyman Adrian Thornton, 52, is in a critical condition after being blasted in the head on Saturday night.
His daughter Solaine, 11, was killed and wife Rachel, 49, who was shot in the head and back, is in a stable condition. Their daughter Celeste, eight, was not hurt but is in the hospital with them.
Dirk Raats, 71, their Dutch neighbour in the hamlet of Saint-Herbot near Quimper, Brittany, was arrested after a brief police siege. Locals said he was hardly ever seen out in the village.
