No extra cash 'shows Tories' contempt for key workers

PUBLIC sector workers blasted the Chancellor for treating them with "utter contempt" as more than 40,000 striking teachers, doctors and civil servants rallied on Budget Day.

Teachers in the National Education Union were in Central London for the Save Our Schools demo on the first of a two-day walkout.

They were joined by members of the BMA on the junior doctors' strike and members of the Public and Commercial Services Union, who were also staging walkouts.

And as the Chancellor spoke, 10,000 striking RMT workers had shut the London Underground.
