But turbulence pilots 'saved lives'

SIX Brits on Flight SQ321 were last night still in intensive care, as more passengers told of their ordeal when the plane fell 6000ft in turbulence.

But the pilots of the Singapore Airlines Boeing 777 were praised for averting a disaster as they grappled with the jet while it plunged from 37,000ft, before making an emergency landing.

Grandad Geoff Kitchen, 73, died of a suspected heart attack amid the chaos in the skies over Myanmar.

His wife Linda suffered spinal and shoulder injuries, a friend revealed, and she remains in hospital. She has been informed of Geoff's death.

Londoner Josh Silverstone was knocked out in the drama.

The 24-year-old, who was travelling from Heathrow to Bali, said: "If the pilots felt the force we felt and they managed to continue and get us to safety then they did amazing.
