THE mum of a vulnerable schoolgirl who was beaten unconscious in a park has been left sickened after vile trolls posed as her daughter to mock the attack.
Angela Jarvis received a friend request on Facebook from a profile using her daughter Abbie's name and photographs last week.
The 45-year-old mum was horrified when she discovered the profile had shared an explicit post claiming that Abbie "deserved" the assault.
It shared images of her brutal injuries with the message: "The day this happened, I kind of deserved it." It comes almost two years since the then 12-year-old was lured to a skatepark in Glasgow before she was battered. The violent assault in October 2022 was filmed and left Abbie in hospital with serious injuries.
Angela told the Record: "I thought Abbie was adding me as a friend because she had been off social media for some time. When I scrolled through the profile and saw this vile post, it was clear this was not my daughter.
"It is disgusting that someone would set up a fake account in her name.
"I am appalled and sickened that somebody would take the time out of their day to do this to her."
Abbie, who is autistic, suffered PTSD following the beating and has since been unable to return to school.
It is the second time trolls have targeted the youngster.
Scammers set up a fundraiser in her name earlier this year.
Angela said: "Every time this happens, it leaves Abbie feeling frustrated, afraid and vulnerable. As a mum, it makes me furious.
