Wilson on going from sixth tier to Hampden cup semi in just five months
CAN'T BELIEVE IT? EWAN ME BOTH

EWAN WILSON can't believe he's gone from getting hammered by Arthurlie to a League Cup semi-final at Hampden with Motherwell in just five months.

The full-back is in Kazakhstan for Scotland Under-21's final group game, where they need to collect three points and pray that Hungary can win in Belgium to secure Euro 2025 play-off spot.

But the fact Wilson is even with the young Scots is part of a remarkable quickfire journey that has taken him from the sixth tier of Scottish football on loan at Beith to a semi-final with Rangers after fearing he would be lost to the game.

Wilson was sent to the West of Scotland Premier Division side after a frustrating loan spell at Stirling turned sour.

By his own admission the left-back wasn't in a good place and had weight issues when he was sent to the Ayrshire school of tough knocks.

The 19-year-old's final game saw Beith losing 5-0 to Arthurlie at Barrhead's Dunterlie Park in May and he is now established as one of the best young players in the Premiership.
