DAVID MARSHALL has pleaded with Hibs and Hearts fans to cut out the missile mayhem before the capital derby suffers an away fan lockout like the Old Firm.
The Easter Road keeper was caught in the line of fire as objects including lighters, a pie and a bottle opener were lobbed from the Hibees end towards Lawrence Shankland as the Jambos skipper waited to take a first-half penalty on Wednesday.
Hibs playmaker Emiliano Marcondes was also targeted by home fans as he waited to take a corner.
Marshall said: "Some of the stuff thrown on could cause serious injury.
It soured the fact that it was such a good atmosphere.
"The players love playing in it. The Edinburgh derby is huge and with the attendance from both sets of fans that the Old Firm doesn't get it generates such an atmosphere.
