FOOTBALLERS Leigh Griffiths and Paul McGowan are in the clear over a investigation into gambling in sport.
The former Scottish Premiership stars were arrested amid a police probe and initially released without charge.
The inquiry is believed to involve betting patterns in a match between Dundee and Hearts in December 2021, which saw McGowan and Griffiths both booked within four minutes of each other.
It emerged the investigation is over and no further action is being taken more than 14 months since the pair and a third man were detained.
Former St Mirren midfielder McGowan and ex-Celtic and Hibernian striker Griffiths were teammates at Dundee at the time.
Both started the 2021.
Scottish Premiership clash with Hearts which the Edinburgh side won 1-0.
Griffiths left Dundee the following month and the match was earmarked by the authorities for investigation, resulting in Griffiths, McGowan and another man being arrested in December 2022.
