I first gambled aged 15 ..now I have lost £250,000

A MAN who emptied his bank account hours after getting paid every month has revealed he's lost over £250,000 to fund his betting addiction.

Colin Brown, 42, has opened up on his battle with betting after it was confirmed earlier this week bookmakers and casinos will be forced to fund NHS-provided support to tackle problem gambling, Under the measure, online stakes - which are currently unlimited-will be set at £5 per spin for those aged over 25 and £2 for 18 to 24-year-olds.

A cap of £2 will also be introduced on sums that can be staked on online slot machines.

The government will use the new statutory levy, with proceeds expected to be around £100million a year, to fund research, prevention and treatment of harms associated with gambling, For Colin, his addiction troubles began aged 15 when he won £4.80 on a slot machine from 50p at his local amusements.

The dopamine hit was so fulfilling he returned to the arcade with the wages from his paper round and spent the lot.

Proud boss Mark: Forget miss, we wouldn't be here without Scott

PROUD Fraserburgh boss Mark Cowie can't blame striker Scott Barbour for passing up the moment his Highland League outfit had dreamed of. The 85-1 outsiders knew they were coming to Ibrox with only the slimmest of opportunities to cause an upset. But they might have stood a chance had Barbour taken his big moment just before half-time. Pouncing on a mistake by Gers keeper Mason Munn, the club's record scorer with 270 goals couldn't grab the biggest of his career as he dragged wide.

Jacksons to headline UK summer fest

THE Jacksons are set to return to the UK to headline a music festival. The Motown stars - whose hits include Blame It on the Boogie, I Want You Back and Can You Feel It - will top the bill at Guil- fest on Saturday July 5. Only three members of the original line-up - Jackie, 72, Jermaine, 70, and Marlon, 67 - are still alive after Michael died aged 50 in 2009 and Tito died aged 70 last year. Marlon, Jackie and Tito's son Taryll, 49, will perform at the festival in Guildford, Surrey, which sold out last year when it returned for the first time in a decade. Organiser Tony Scott said: \"It is an absolute priv- ilege to have the legendary Jacksons headlining.\" Razorlight will play the main stage on Sunday.
