The 24-year-old, plucked from the sixth tier in a switch echoing Doolan's from Auchinleck in 2009, rattled a rasper to draw Jags level en route to a 2-2 first-leg draw.
Skipper Brian Graham yesterday added the club's Player of the Year award to his PFA gong in a season that has produced 24 goals.
Heading into the play-offs and the prospect of TuesdayFriday demands, Graham, 36, said: "I keep telling youse I'm Peter Pan!"
But McBeth operating at centre-back while able to play in midfield too - proved the skipper's not the only one producing magic.
