KEIR Starmer and his Shadow Chancellor Rachel Reeves have welcomed the Daily Record's backing for Labour at the General Election.
Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar also said he was "honoured" by this newspaper's support in the historic poll.
The Record has not provided explicit support for a political party at a Westminster election since 2010.
But with so much at stake on July 4, we endorsed Labour and Starmer to kick the Tories out of office.
We said next week's vote is about setting the country on a different path and called for Scots to be in the front seat by voting Labour.
Our front page, which included a litany of Tory failures like Partygate and the cost-of-living crisis, generated a huge reaction.
Starmer, who was joined by actor Idris Elba yesterday to talk about knife crime, tweeted a picture of the splash and wrote: "It's time to turn the page and put Scotland at the heart of a Labour government."
Reeves, who is in line to become the first female chancellor, said: "I was really delighted by the front page. My message to your readers is - if people want change, which I know they do after 14 years of Conservatives in Westminster and 17 years of the SNP in Scotland, then you have to vote for it.
"Change doesn't happen by chance, it only happens if people go out and vote positively for change.
"On July 5, one of two people is going to be prime minister. We're going to have more chaos and decline with the Conservatives, or a fresh start with Labour and Keir Starmer as prime minister.
