CONFIDENCE was never going to be a problem for Lawrence Shankland on the back of his recordbreaking season at Hearts.
But then again, the hitman does joke about having a big head.
Yet the Scotland star admitted there was a bit of relief at getting on the scoresheet against Finland on Friday ahead of Germany.
Shankland's ability to stick the ball in the net is not in doubt, having managed it an incredible 32 times last term.
Yet questions have been asked by some - perhaps harshly at international level in the build up to Euro 2024.
He struck in the 2-2 draw in Georgia after qualification had been secured.
But a couple of missed chances against Holland and drawing a blank against Gibraltar proved frustrating for a guy who doesn't normally need any invitations to stick opportunities away.
Finland on Friday was ideal for Shanks and he's convinced Ol' Big Head can strike again in Germany.
When asked if there had been a bit of anxiety building, the Jambos hero admitted: "There is maybe a bit of that.
"It's a special feeling when you score for Scotland - so I was itching to get it.
"It was about trying to be calm, trying not to snatch at things. I'd one wee opportunity in the first half against Finland that I maybe snatched at.
