A SCALED back Commonwealth Games in Glasgow would have no marathon on the grounds of cost.
Road cycling would also be axed as organisers plan a slimmed-down version of the showpiece event.
Commonwealth Games organisers have backed Glasgow hosting in 2026 after Victoria in Australia pulled out.
Victoria abandoned the Games in July last year when the estimated cost soared from $2.6 billion to almost $7 billion.
Around £100million in compensation would be given to Glasgow by the Victoria state government to help fund the Games.
