LABOUR has been accused of introducing "a new era of austerity" by making the Winter Fuel Payment means-tested.
SNP Finance Minister Shona Robison said the new UK Government was copying Tory spending plans after the Scottish Government said it could not provide the benefit for all older people.
Holyrood announced yesterday that the payment will now be given only to the poorest pensioners, following asimilar move by Westminster.
