CAR parks overlooking world-famous Glen Coe pose an "unacceptable" risk to the safety of visitors, academics have claimed.

They warned two parking spots off the main A82, which runs through the Highland glen, were potentially hazardous.

In a paper, partly funded by Transport Scotland, researchers said both car parks are used to access viewing points for the stunning landscape, which featured in the James Bond movie Skyfall, as well as to reach hiking routes and ski resorts.

A large number of tourist coaches and minibusses also stop at the locations, with up to 250 people there at any one time.
