A FUNDRAISER to help the Scotland men's deaf football team compete in the Euros for the first time has topped £32,000.

The squad are aiming to take part in the European Deaf Football Championships in Turkey next month.

But a lack of funding forced them to launch an appeal to fulfill their dreams of playing in the tournament.

The Scottish Deaf Football Association (SDFA) said it needs to raise £40,000 to get the players to the competition. More than 1200 people have donated to an online campaign and the total now sits at £32,693 - 81 per cent of the target.
