THE family of a man who froze to death while working at a wind farm have been given a six-figure compo payout.

Ronnie Alexander died at Afton Wind Farm, near New Cumnock in Ayrshire, after getting stranded. during a snowstorm in 2018. The 74-year-old security guard suffered hypothermia after his cabin generator failed, leaving him without any electricity or heating.

Dad-of-two and grandad of-three Ronnie, from Kilmarnock, died just months before the couple's 50th wedding anniversary.
