XL BULLY PUT DOWN AFTER POLICE SWOOP

AN OUT-of-control XL bully-type dog was put down and a woman charged after armed police raced to an incident in a street.

Officers swooped on Broughton Place in Coatbridge at about 3.40 pm on Thursday after receiving reports of an incident involving the pet.

The dog, believed to be aged just seven months, was euthanised at the property by a vet. No one was injured.

A 30-year-old woman has since been charged with an alleged breach of the Dangerous Dogs Act.

One resident told the Record he was shocked by the number of police who attended.
