You dig in and find a way to get a result..that IS the Celtic Way

ALISTAIR JOHNSTON knows there has always been a demand for Celtic to play in a swashbuckling style.

You dig in and find a way to get a result..that IS the Celtic Way

The Canadian may not be aware, though, that legendary chairman Sir Robert Kelly in the 50s and 60s took it a step further by bringing in a bonus scheme for players if he felt the fans had been entertained.

Playing the famous Celtic Way is in the club’s DNA but 26-year- old Johnston reckons the mantra needs a tweak when it comes to the Champions League.

It’s more about finding another way when it comes to picking up points at the elite level.

Even so, the right-back doesn’t believe shifting style is an affront to the club’s ethos.

In fact, the all-action defender is convinced the other attributes needed when going up against the big boys is exactly the right way.

Celtic had to show a few sides to their game against Club Brugge on Wednesday night.

They had to hang tough in a first period during which things were not going to plan. On another day they might have crumbled.

Such an outcome happened in that dreadful seven-goal drubbing in Dortmund last month.

But this is a different Celtic to the one left bashed and bruised by Borussia. It’s made of much tougher stuff now and they showed it again with a 1-1 draw on matchday five.

Proud boss Mark: Forget miss, we wouldn't be here without Scott

PROUD Fraserburgh boss Mark Cowie can't blame striker Scott Barbour for passing up the moment his Highland League outfit had dreamed of. The 85-1 outsiders knew they were coming to Ibrox with only the slimmest of opportunities to cause an upset. But they might have stood a chance had Barbour taken his big moment just before half-time. Pouncing on a mistake by Gers keeper Mason Munn, the club's record scorer with 270 goals couldn't grab the biggest of his career as he dragged wide.

Jacksons to headline UK summer fest

THE Jacksons are set to return to the UK to headline a music festival. The Motown stars - whose hits include Blame It on the Boogie, I Want You Back and Can You Feel It - will top the bill at Guil- fest on Saturday July 5. Only three members of the original line-up - Jackie, 72, Jermaine, 70, and Marlon, 67 - are still alive after Michael died aged 50 in 2009 and Tito died aged 70 last year. Marlon, Jackie and Tito's son Taryll, 49, will perform at the festival in Guildford, Surrey, which sold out last year when it returned for the first time in a decade. Organiser Tony Scott said: \"It is an absolute priv- ilege to have the legendary Jacksons headlining.\" Razorlight will play the main stage on Sunday.
