MSPs say foetus photos used to target vulnerable

ANTI ABORTION protesters have been challenged over "deeply distressing" signs and images outside medical centres in Scotland.

Opponents of plans to create 200-metre buffer zones outside abortion clinics were asked if they thought using photographs of "aborted or dismembered foetuses" was acceptable.

Giving evidence to a Holyrood committee yesterday, a number of anti-abortion activists said they did not support the harassment of women but that "positive life messages" were justifiable.

They argued The Abortion Services (Safe Access Zones) (Scotland) Bill would."criminalise silent prayer".

Greens MSP Ross Greer questioned the effect the vigils had on vulnerable people seeking healthcare.
