Actor insists attack wasn't his intention

STEPHEN Tompkinson said his career had been “taken away” after being accused of knocking out a man. 

The DCI Banks star told a jury he was now out of work as “any association with me” had been “put on hold” since his arrest for allegedly hitting Karl Poole.

Tompkinson, 57, who denies GBH, said it would have been “career suicide” for him to do it.
