WALES 32
FIJI 26
WALES shaded a thriller in Bordeaux against the dangerous Fijians last night to launch their World Cup campaign in style.
Second-half tries from Louis ReesZammit and Elliot Dee brought victory in the game of the tournament but they lived on their nerves as Fiji launched a thrilling late comeback.
Wales got off to a perfect start with a seventh-minute try from Josh Adams wide on the left after a midfield break by George North.
However, Fiji captain Waisea Nayacalevu struck back with a superb individual effort in the 13th minute after picking up a loose ball in midfield and bursting through Dan Biggar (inset) and Aaron Wainwright to race in from 40 metres.
