Squeezed into third in the women's keirin final, Finucane's bronze medal (inset) may have felt like last night's ale after her champagne ride to glory with Katy Marchant and Sophie Capewell in the team sprint.
But the fastest thing to come out of Wales since Gareth Bale flying down the wing need make no apologies.
Finucane's mum and dad, Susie and Rory, drove 500 miles all the way to Paris from Carmarthen in a campervan to support her and she did them proud again.
Remember, she is just 21 years old and she could still win a second gold medal in the individual sprint.
