Kids don't like hobby - and it costs too much

MODEL railways are at risk of dying out due to an ageing population and rising prices.

The hobby, loved by the likes of singer Sir Rod Stewart, is hitting the buffers as younger people aren’t interested.

Tom Heywood, of the Aberdeen Modellers Society, said: “I think the worry is always that it’s an aged hobby. The average age of modellers in my club is over 60.
