MORGAN WHITTAKER hopes Plymouth's unlikely win at Brentford can be the springboard to Championship survival.
And after new manager Miron Muslic (circle), who officially takes charge today, watched Saturday's triumph from the stands, goalscorer Whittaker reckons the bar has been set high by Argyle's battlers.
The Pilgrims - who host Liverpool in the fourth round - are only three points from safety in the second tier despite conceding 53 goals in 25 games. But they have now kept back-to-back clean sheets and their trip to west London brought a first win on the road all campaign.
Whittaker has struggled in front of goal recently, having scored 20 times last season, but his wonderful strike to sink the Bees (top) became an instant favourite. He said: "It's got to be up there. The message before was that in the FA Cup anything can happen.
"So we went into it with no fear and just played our game. I kept going and luckily it opened up, and I thought, 'Why not?'. It was a relief. It's been a tough season for everyone.
